Boat Tour:

This tour is special for nature lovers, a tour through the channels, river and lagoons of the wetland by motor boat, knowing more closely the different animals including reptiles (iguanas, caimans, turtles, basilisks), mammals (monkeys, sloths, bats) and birds (350 species between residents and migrants).

It includes: Tour of 2-2.5 h in the RNVS Caño Negro, Local guide, Fruits and Water

Sportfishing Tour:

Caño Negro has different species of fish, some of them are: snook, guapote, mojarra and the prehistoric Gaspar fish and the Silver Tarpon one of the principals species for this activitie.

Birdwatching Tour

Caño Negro is one of the most visited places by bird lovers due to the large amount it

harbors, as well as having endangered and very difficult species such as Coommon

Pooto, Yellow Headed Vulture, Green and Rufous Kingfisher, Jabiru , American Pigmy

Kingfisher, Roseate Spoonbill, Nicaraguan Grackle, and many more.       This tour, being

for specialists in birds, has a longer duration, since the client must be allowed to take the

pertinent photographs and a better appreciation of the birds. We recommended start this

tour at 6 a.m.  and will take us to different parts of the refuge where the client will be

allowed to make his notes, take photographs and so on, after about 3 hours of travel he

will return.

Adventure Safari

Rainy Season:  This tour consists of a trip of approximately 4 hours by kayak or canoe on the Frío River and canals from the town of Caño Negro to San Emilio, where the bridge over the Frío River is located. The client will be able to know a large part of the 9969 hectares of the protected area, its flora, its fauna and, of course, the adventure of touring the old communication routes of the place. 

Hours: Starting at 6 a.m. until 1 p.m., please coordinate the schedule in which the client wishes by prior reservation

Duration: approximately 4 hours

Dry Season:

We start with a walk in the plains of Caño Negro, getting to know the wetlands, specifically the largest lake during the winter, after getting to know it a little closer we go into the forest that surrounds it and continue walking along the edges of the old Frío River learning about its history, flora and fauna, after 2 hrs approximately we will arrive at the current Frío River and we will take the canoes or boat to return appreciating the birds and reptiles around it to the community of Caño Negro.
